Potter County Feed Yards is a 5500 head state permitted feed lot (SDG-0100470) located in the heart of cattle country. This excellent cattle feeding operation is located on 251.38 acres providing ample room for lots, feed storage, drainage, lagoons and some feed production. Currently ran as a commercial feeding operation but it could be set up for a private operation. Two modern ranch style residences are located on the property providing outstanding housing.

An artesian well (2,200') drilled in 2009 provides the facility with water. An elaborate valve system located in water house controls delivery to individual pens. Mid-Dakota Rural Water supplies water to residences and serves as a back up for the feedlot. Reservoir tanks insure a supply of water in the event of unexpected supply loss.

The feed mill has 4 bins which hold approximately 18,000 bushels each. Truck scale (beam) located near feed mill is inspected. The mill is complete with liquid tanks. Dry feed storage is located nearby providing a very good feed delivery system.

Over 4000' of concrete bunks provide sufficient room for cattle to feed. Fence lines are in good condition and receive continuous maintenance. The receiving area provides a well protected place to treat incoming cattle and start acclimating them to the yards.

The working area inside cattle shed is very simple and efficient. Hydraulic chute and tub system provide excellent tools to work large numbers in a very short time with minimal labor.

West of the feed yard is cow country clear to the Rocky Mountains. East of the property is corn country with some of the highest producing acres in the nation. The beef processing plant currently being built in Aberdeen (approx. 105 miles) will provide an excellent outlet for finished cattle. The plant is proposing to specialize in South Dakota Certified Beef. Three of the largest livestock auctions in South Dakota are located within 105 miles the yards. This insures an adequate supply of feeders.

Possibly the most exciting part of this property is the hunting opportunities. This is simply a mecca for pheasants, deer, waterfowl and of course the fantastic Missouri fishing. The fantastic wildlife compliments the business opportunity included with the feed yards.
