This reflects a 91 percent drop compared to April 2019 in the total amount of South Dakota land and property for sale. Of the 66 counties in the state, Lawrence County had the most land and rural real estate for sale. In terms of its size, South Dakota is the country's 17th-largest state, covering an area of 77,121 square miles (49 million acres).
